ETOO training of Medical Officers Northern Uganda took place in Gulu district over a period of 5days.


ETOO training funded by UNFPA implemented by AOGU & Marie stopes is a blended training with lectures and practicing sessions. With an aim of improving surgical proficiency of obstetric care providers. Apart from diagnosis of conditions that require these procedures also training on these surgical procedures is done. These include;
• Manual vacuum aspiration
• Use of uterine ballon tamponade
• Manual removal of placenta
• Vacuum extraction
• Identification and repair of perineal tear and cervical tear


The course is complete when the trainees performs 6 caesarian sections supervised by a certified trainer.
